(1942–) a Chilean writer whose novels include The House of the Spirits, Paula, and My Invented Country. Her uncle was Salvador Allende.

Allende, Salvador /ˈsælvədɔːʳ/
(1908–73) a socialist politician who was elected President of Chile in 1970. In 1973 Allende and many of his supporters were killed when the army took control of the government.
